I believe every portfolio should include a little of the designer's personality so visitors can get a peek at the person behind the design work. Below are a few things that encompass my hobbies and interests that fall outside my professional pursuits.
In my spare time I've been working on pulling together an idea for a podcast called The Creative Struggle that will hopefully launch later this year. The idea behind the podcast is to interview artists in a variety of creative fields about how they've gotten through difficulties, with the goal of providing encouragement and inspiration for other creatives going through similar trials. Photography - Urban Exploration
I've been exploring abandoned buildings since the early 2000s. I love finding beauty in decay. The thing that draws me to these locations is wondering who the last people were to inhabit them.
Photography - Travel
My favorite quote comes from one of my favorite authors, Mark Twain: "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” Whenever possible I love to travel to other parts of the world and experience their cultures. These are a few photographs I've taken along the way.
